Phonopolis and their Blog

If you live in this neighbourhood then you probably already know about Phonopolis. If not here’s the lowdown…

Phonopolis is a great little record shop a few doors from us that specializes in Indie and Experimental Rock, Jazz, International music and Classic Blues (but if you want the new Jay-Z they have that too!).

The shop was opened by Nathan Gage, a music enthusiast with a record collection that would bring some grown men or women to their knees and musician playing bass in Shapes and Sizes. Other members of Shapes and Sizes include Caila Thompson-Hannant who sews beautiful clothes that are sold here at Woodenapples, Rory Seydel, my husband and Jon Crellin a super drummer.

You can catch S&S playing an instore at Phonopolis with Cryptacize next month. Which brings us the other super thing about Phonopolis, the instores. Cramming as many kids as you can into a basement to listen to amazing music has a way of bringing people together.
