I have new things in from Pinpals and Marmod8. From Sara at Pinpals we’ve got these great one of a kind hand drawn tote bags ($55) and for something completely different from Marmod8 these amazing handpainted woodgrain ceramics ($12-$32). Beautiful!

We took a little trip out of the neighbourhood today, which unfortunately doesn’t happen very often, to have a peek at a new little shop, La Carie, which is really more of an adorable closet. I heard about the shop when I saw one of their postcards at Drawn and Quarterly and then received an email the same day inviting me to have a look around. How could I resist. I gathered up some pals and we made the trip over to Ontario and Papineau, not far, I know, but I never leave a 2 block radius so it seemed like an adventure. The thing that makes this shop/closet/kiosk different is that it is inside of a funny little flea market. From what I understand a group of friends got together and decided to rent a stall in this flea market on a whim a few weeks ago and La Carie was born.
As tiny as it is it had some nice things to offer, a mix of handmade and vintage, I think we all walked away with something. A feather hairclip ($5), an antique-y brooch ($5), a great tourist sweatshirt ($7) and a windbreaker ($10). If you find yourself in the neighbourhood stop by or make a day of it like we did!

Thanks to everyone who made it out to Puces Pop 2008 (there were over 5000 of you in total, woohoo)! We’ve got some great new stuff in the shop to fill the holes left by things sold over the crazy Pop weekend.
For those of you who’ve been waiting for the beautiful Laptop Cases by Track and Field, the wait is over. We’ve got half a dozen in the shop and they’re ADORABLE.
We’ve got a new vendor at Atelier Woodenapples, allow me to introduce you to Berkley Illustrations. I had the pleasure of meeting these lovely people at Renegade in Brooklyn this summer and knew at once that I needed to have their clever prints in the shop. Animals in suits! How can you resist?
Last but not least we received a nice fat parcel from Chainchainchain this week overflowing with fantastic jewelry. Grab it while you can, her stuff always flys out the door.
