She’s so lovely

Today you get an introduction to the lovely Serah-Marie. Anyone stopping by the shop on a Tuesday or anyone who’s taken one of the many workshops she’s taught here has already had the pleasure.
Aside from working and teaching at Woodenapples she’s also the editor of Worn Fashion Journal a local Montreal magazine interested in exploring fashion not trends, a fiber artist and a crafty zine publisher. She’s a busy lady and the store wouldn’t be the same without her.
Get to know Serah-Marie by taking one of her “Intro to the Sewing Machine” classes in January.

Crafter Spotlight- Craftpaca

Today we’re going to profile one of our best-selling crafters, Craftpaca. Julie Hollifield is lives in Bloomington, Indiana (soon to be relocating to New York) where she designs and creates beautiful hand silkscreened plush. Her tiny owls are our #1 selling item in the store, people can’t get enough of them as soon as they arrive they sell out.

Her obsession with birds has hit the right cord with shoppers, not only at Atelier Woodenapples but on her Etsy site as well where she has been interviewed as a “Featured Seller” and has made over 900 sales.

Julie earned a degree in Fashion Design from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles in 2004 and then moved to Indiana to explore nature and crafting, while receiving a degree in Apparel Merchandising and Business.

We wish her well on her move and can’t wait to see what she crafts up in the new year.
